Sunderland manager admits another move for Liverpool’s Fabio Borini could happen

Gus Poyet has revealed that despite being snubbed by the striker in the summer he could make another attempt to sign him in 2015.

Borini enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light in 2013/14, but chose to stay at Anfield this time around to fight for his place.

“Could we revisit in January? It depends on where we are — I wouldn’t like to say yes or no because I don’t know how we are going to be or how he is going to be,” Poyet was quoted by ESPN.

Reds line up £24m for Lazio winger Antonio Candreva

After a decent 2014 World Cup campaign with Italy the 27-year-old has been heavily linked with the Premier League.

Italian source Tutto Mercato reports that the Merseyside outfit are lining up a £24m January bid for Candreva.

Lazio are desperate to keep hold of their star player though and are prepared to increase his ages and offer him the captaincy as an incentive.

Emre Can joins Danel Sturridge on the sidelines

There is more bad news for manager Brendan Rodgers on the injury front as new signing Can is now out for an extended period, according to the Mirror.

The youngster arrived at Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen this summer for £9.75m, but picked up a fitness issue whilst on international duty.

Sturridge is already out for three weeks after suffering a thigh strain whilst away with the England national team.

Father of wonderkid target knocks back Rodgers’ approach

Many of Europe’s biggest sides have been keeping tabs on 15-year-old Martin Odegaard of late after he burst onto the scene with Stromsgodset.

Despite his young age the midfielder has already made his debut for the senior Norway national side, but his father says he could be staying put for the time being.

“It’s a danger when there’s so much attention to him from clubs and the media. I think he has handled it very well so far and he has his feet on the ground,” Hans Erik Odegaard told CNN.

Adam Lallana could make club debut against Aston Villa

Having signed from Southampton for £25m in the summer the England international is still yet to play in a competitive fixture for his new team.

Lallana suffered a knee injury during the pre-season tour of the USA, but his new boss has revealed his introduction to the starting XI is imminent.

“He’s looked very good. He is obviously short of match fitness, but the only way he is going to get that is by playing,” Rodgers told the club’s website.
