Mathieu Debuchy

Went off injured late on but had a decent game for Arsenal at right-back, though he could do with some improvement in the final third. 6/10.

Nacho Monreal

Not the worst player in the world, but Nacho Monreal showed why he is only a backup to the injured Kieran Gibbs, as he struggled with Jesus Navas for much of the afternoon. 5/10.

Per Mertesacker

A solid player who had another decent game, but currently looks part of a team that isn’t well drilled enough in defence, conceding two soft goals again this afternoon. 6/10.

Laurent Koscielny

Could’ve done better to spot Sergio Aguero’s run on the first goal, but had an otherwise strong game at the back for the Gunners. 5.5/10.

Mathieu Flamini

A lively game in the middle of the park with some competitive challenges, though he was surprisingly found wanting as he failed to track Sergio Aguero’s run into the box in the first goal. 5.5/10.

Jack Wilshere

A big improvement from Jack Wilshere today, capping an energetivc midfield display with a superb goal and assist, showing that he is well suited to a more advanced role than the one he has been playing for England. Man of the match. 8/10.

Mesut Ozil

Another quiet and ineffective performance from Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, whose indifferent form must be starting to really worry some of the club’s fans as he looks no closer to settling in after his big-money move from Real Madrid last summer. 5/10.

Aaron Ramsey

Not his best game, but Aaron Ramsey had some good moments for a player who may not even have been entirely fit after being a doubt for the starting lineup before this afternoon. 6/10.

Alexis Sanchez

Still finding his feet in this Arsenal team, but a strong display capped by a simply stunning goal late on which could have been the winner. The Chilean is certainly an exciting talent and one who has shown signs that he will improve in time. 7/10.

Danny Welbeck

A decent debut from Danny Welbeck, playing for Arsenal for the first time since his £16m move from Manchester United. Should have scored in the first half, but was unlucky with his chipped finish hitting the post. 6.5/10.
