The 28 year old is one of the most highly rated front men in Europe, but how has he fared in his first game for his previous clubs? Well, with plenty of goals actually. Here is his debut goal scoring record…

LANCEROS BOYACA, 28 August 1999, Deportivo Pereira, D 2-2

The striker made his debut for Lanceros Boyaca aged just 13! Although he didn’t score on his debut, a first goal in professional football didn’t take long in arriving when aged 14 he netted in a 2-0 win against El Condor. That would turn out to be his one and only goal for Deportivo Pereira as a move to a bigger club came on the cards.

RIVER PLATE: 6 March 2005, Instituto Cordoba, W 3-1 Falcao had to wait four years for his River Plate debut and his first game for the Argentine club wasn’t much to write home about. He only came on for four minutes and had little time to impress alongside the likes of Javier Mascherano and Gonzalo Higuain, but he did come into his own the following season.

PORTO: 16 August 2009, Pacos de Ferreira, D 1-1

He made the move to FC Porto in 2009 and made an instant impact on his debut, scoring a crucial equaliser after coming on as a substitute for Raul Meireles. The prolific striker scored in each of his first four games and also formed a deadly partnership with Brazilian forward Hulk.

ATLETICO MADRID, 10 September 2011, Valencia, L 0-1

A 1-0 loss at the hands of Valencia wasn’t an ideal start to Falcao’s time with Valencia but he made up for it with six goals in his next three games. The Colombian went on to score 70 goals in two seasons at Atletico.

MONACO, 10 August 2013, Bordeaux, W 2-0

The 27 year-old started excellently at his new club AS Monaco, scoring on his debut in the French club’s 2-0 victory over Bordeaux.

He went on to score 7 goals in his first 7 games for his new club. Despite this impressive start, Falcao would end up missing half of the season with a knee ligament injury.
