According to the Mirror, Jordan Rossiter could be making his Liverpool debut tonight in the League Cup fixture against Middlesbrough at Anfield.

Here’s ten things Reds supporters should know about the midfield prodigy.

10) Jordan Rossiter is a 17-year-old academy star, who made his debut for the Under-18s on his 15th birthday.

9) He plays as a box-to-box midfielder, and prides himself on his drive and energy in the centre.

8) He’s been compared by Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler to Steven Gerrard. No pressure then!

7) Jamie Carragher has said the same thing…

“I like the look of him,” the former Reds centre-back told Liverpool’s official website.

“He’s got a bit of character and steel that me and Stevie have had. He’s a great talent.”

6) He was named Liverpool Academy Player of the Season last term, after regularly impressing for the Under-21s.

5) His performances for the youth sides earned him a spot on Liverpool’s bench on three occasions.

4) Rossiter was named Man of the Match against Ludogorets in the UEFA Youth League, which has led to rumours that he’ll be given a full Liverpool debut tonight against Middlesbrough.

3) A potential weakness could be Rossiter’s height. He stands at 5 ft. 8″, which is small for a battling midfielder.

2) Rossiter was awarded the squad no. 46 for the 2014/15 campaign.

1) The last Liverpool academy graduate to play in central midfield was Jay Spearing, now the captain of Bolton Wanderers.
