David de Gea – 7/10

Toiled hard to keep the score down with an inexperienced defence in front of him.

Marcos Rojo – 6/10

Still looking raw at this level, but being the most experienced player in a depleted back line has proved tough.

Patrick McNair – 6/10

Not a bad debut considering the circumstances, but still miles off regular first team action.

Rafael – 7/20

Brilliant run and cross for Rooney’s goal.

Luke Shaw – 7/10

Looked good going down the left flank, and drew fouls when needed to take the pressure off.

Daley Blind – 7/10

Marshalled the midfield well and dropped back when possible to help the struggling defence gel.

Ander Herrera – 7/10

Has slot into the side effortlessly, but is fast becoming an unsung hero.

Angel Di Maria – 8/10

Looks as classy as ever and is growing in confidence with every game.

Wayne Rooney – 5/10

From hero to zero. Started with a great goal, but let himself down with a wild kick that earned him an early shower. Not the way for a captain to behave.

Robin Van Persie – 8/10

A great goal from the Dutchman gave United a cushion going into the break, looks good next to Falcao.

Radamel Falcao – 8/10

Solid involvement in Van Persie’s goal, once he scores himself he will be unstoppable.
