Rodgers says Mario Balotelli gamble is yet to pay off
Since joining the Merseyside outfit from AC Milan in the summer for £16m the Italy international has failed to truly find form.
So far Balotelli has scored just once – in the Champions League – and his boss admits that the gamble of signing the 24-year-old may not have paid off.
“I think there were very few who are top class who were available and Mario Balotelli was a calculated gamble that we had to try and work with,” Rodgers was quoted by the Mirror.
