The biggest stories on Friday for the Red Devils.

Manchester United on alert as Arturo Vidal set to hold talks with Juventus over his future

The midfielder is in the bad books at the Juventus Stadium after being spotted at a bar in Turin at 5am in the morning and then turning up late to training the next day.

As a result Vidal was dropped from the starting XI for the Serie A clash with AS Roma and is now set for talks with La Bianconeri about his future at the club, according to the Daily Star.

This has put the Red Devils on alert with them keen on signing the Chile international in the January transfer window.

Daley Blind knows it will take some time before he can be considered Roy Keane’s successor

The Netherlands international signed from Ajax over the summer and has been solid in defensive midfielder role for his new team.

It was a position that former captain and club legend Keane used to occupy, but Blind is not getting carried away with the comparisons with the Irishman.

“Let’s not go overboard. It’s going quite well, but we’ve only just started,” the 24-year-old was quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

After just six first team appearances Tyler Blackett is to be given a £50,000-a-week contract

With injury concerns and key departures from Old Trafford this summer Blackett has been fast-tracked to the first team by manager Louis van Gaal.

The 20-year-old has made six Premier League appearances for the club so far in 2014/15 and van Gaal has been so impressed he wants to reward the defender.

Blackett currently earns £2,000-a-week, but the Dutchman has recommended that this be improved and £50,000-a-week is being quoted, reports the Daily Mail.

Keane lays into former boss Sir Alex Ferguson in his autobiography

Despite winning so much together there has been a tension between the current Aston Villa assistant manager and Ferguson since the former left the Theatre of Dreams in 2005.

Sir Alex then went onto criticise Keane in his own autobiography – released after he retied in 2013 – and now the 43-year-old has responded to the Scot.

“For Alex Ferguson not just to criticise myself but other players who were part of a team that brought some good days to lots of supporters… for him to criticise that, when you think of what he made out of it – he made millions of pounds out of it,” the ex-Ireland international was quoted by the Mirror.

Rio Ferdinand thinks he could have learned a lot from van Gaal

The 35-year-old left United after 12 years with the club this summer and joined QPR on a free transfer, but part of him clearly still wishes he was there.

Ferdinand’s final season was somewhat chaotic, with David Moyes struggling to manage the team after Fergie’s departure, but the centre-back believes order has now been restored under van Gaal.

“You can see the difference between the confusing Moyes approach and the absolute clarity Louis van Gaal brought to the job. I’m disappointed I didn’t get a chance to work with him because it would have been an education,” the Englishman wrote in his autobiography #2sides, as quoted by the Sport Review.
