This is how we expected Dunga to line the Selecao up in China:

GK) Jefferson – The Botafogo ‘keeper has stepped up to replace Julio Cesar as first choice since Dunga returned as manager.

RB) Danilo – FC Porto right back Danilo has been in excellent form in the Primeira Liga this season and is now ahead of both Maicon and Dani Alves in the pecking order.

CB) Miranda – It was a mystery why Scolari left the powerful Atletico Madrid man at home for the World Cup, but Dunga has now rectified that error.

CB) David Luiz – One of the survivors from that disastrous night in Belo Horizonte, Luiz has yet to prove himself a £50m player at Paris Saint Germain.

LB) Filipe Luis – Was also mysteriously left out of the World Cup squad when at Atletico, but Dunga seems to prefer the Chelsea man to Marcelo.

DCM) Luiz Gustavo – Brazil lack obvious options in defensive midfield, meaning that Dunga is persevering with Wolfsburg’s Gustavo.

CM) Elias – One of the domestic-based players in Dunga’s squad, Elias has had a fine season for Corinthians and is set to be rewarded with a start.

ARM) Kaka – Has been wonderful since returning to the Brasileiro with Sao Paulo, leading to a shock return to the Brazil squad and possible start here.

ACM) Oscar – Was the number 10 for the most part under Scolari and that is yet to change since Dunga took over.

ALM) Neymar – Dunga is continuing to use Brazil’s leading light from a position wide on the left.

SC) Diego Tardelli – Another Brasileiro striker has stepped up to replace the hapless Fred – can Atletico Mineiro’s Tardelli do any better?
