Serie A giants AC Milan have been forced to release a statement denying the rumours that have spread across the internet this evening claiming that former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien had contracted the Ebola virus.

Essien has become the second footballer in recent days to be forced to issue a denial over rumours surrounding the virus, with former Coventry City striker Dele Adebola taking to Twitter to confirm the he is in good health following numerous puns about his name.
