Real Madrid To Offer Chelsea Sami Khedira In Intriguing Swap Deal

Real Madrid could offer the midfielder in an attempt to get Petr Cech.

Real Madrid are the latest club to become interested in out-of-favour Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, report the Express, with Carlo Ancelotti and his side reportedly willing to offer German midfielder Sami Khedira to the Blues in order to help secure a deal for the Czech international goalkeeper.

Chelsea have held a long-standing interest in Khedira, who is expected to move on from the Bernabeu in January after turning down the offer of a new deal at the club, with his current contract due to expire next summer – at which point he would be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

With this in mind, Real may well be willing to use Khedira as part of a swap deal to lure Cech, who is also attracting the interest of major European clubs including AS Roma and fierce local rivals Atletico Madrid.

The Czech stopper has been the first choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge for a decade and is widely regarded as still being one of the best in the world – but the return of Belgian youngster Thibaut Courtois from three years on loan at Atletico forced Jose Mourinho’s hand, with the Portuguese manager installing him into the first team to ensure that Courtois was willing to remain at the club.
