A goal scored by a goalkeeper is generally considered a rare sight, with players like former Manchester United star Peter Schmeichel known for his occasional forays into the opposition box.

As a free-kick and penalty specialist however, Ceni does it on a regular basis. This was miraculously the Brazilian’s 123rd career goal.

With the likes of Kaka, Ganso, and Michel Bastos on the field it’s a wonder that he gets to take the free kicks at all, but this video shows exactly why they are left to him has he blasts it past the Bahia keeper.

Sao Paulo went on to win the game 2-1, the 41-year-old keeper not only helping his team to the win, but also cementing his record as highest scoring goalkeeper ever to play the game.
