Arsenal face Anderlecht in Belgium this evening, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger hoping to get three Champions League points for his 65th birthday.

Anderlecht could cause Arsenal problems though.

Their primary danger man is 20-year-old striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is reportedly a transfer target for Liverpool.

Here are five things you should know about Mr Mitrovic…

5. Numbers

Mitrovic is Anderlecht’s leading goalscorer in the Belgian league this season, with five goals in 11 games.

He has already represented Serbia eight times at senior international level, netting once. He has six Under-21 goals to his name, coming in eight appearances.

4. Variety

Mitrovic can score all sorts of goals.

Check out the video below, which shows him finding the net with a clinical finish from the edge of the penalty area, a beauty on the turn, a close-range rebound, a cheeky dink and multiple headers.

3. Record-breaker

Anderlecht broke their club transfer record when they signed Mitrovic for €5m in August 2013. However, the record now belongs to Steven Defour, who was recruited from Porto this summer.

4. Hot head

Mitrovic’s major weakness is his poor discipline. He was sent off twice last season.

He also missed most of the Under-19 European championships in 2012, after picking up a red card in Serbia’s tournament opener against France.

5. Mourinho praise

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho watched Mitrovic score his first international goal for Serbia against Croatia in 2013.

The Special One then said to the Belgian press: “Mirtovic was the best player on the pitch.

“He managed to keep the ball well and that was the key. That boy has everything to be a European star.”
