10) President Ronnie

Cristiano Ronaldo was born Cristiano Dos Santos Aveiro. His father was such a big fan of former US President Ronald Reagan however, that he gave his son Ronaldo as a second name.

9) Bad boy for life

Ronaldo was not always the well behaved role model he is now, and he was even expelled from school at one point.

The Real Madrid star actually attacked a teacher with a chair, stating that “He disrespected me”.

At that point his mother decided it was best he concentrated on his football. Well done mum!

8) Hollyoaks fan?

During his time in Manchester Ronaldo dated form Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson.

The busty actress and lingerie model was only a fling for the Real Madrid star really, but maybe she turned him into a Hollyoaks fan?

7) Father Fergie

Ronaldo’s father passed away in September 2005. The 52-year-old suffered from an alcoholism related liver condition.

Sir Alex Ferguson became a father figure to the youngster after his switch to Manchester United, and played a major role in both his personal and professional life.

It still isn’t completely clear why he didn’t want the number seven shirt when it was offered to him, but when asked what shirt he wanted he requested “Number 28.”

Ferguson wasn’t happy with that request though and forced the number seven on him.

Many people are aware that Ronaldo has a son, with Cristiano Jnr born on June 17th 2010.

What many people don’t know however, is that the identity of his mother is a complete mystery.

Ronaldo took full custody of Cristianinho and has refused to reveal who the child’s mother is.

3) Yes mum!

It is believed that Ronaldo never actually wanted to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid, but was forced to move by his mother.

Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro was not only a huge Real Madrid fan, but also wanted her son closer to her. She allegedly hated Manchester and England, the weather in particular.

2) So close, yet so far

Ronaldo almost rejoined Manchester United in 2013 after former defender Rio Ferdinand pleaded with him to return.

The superstar had apparently grown momentarily disillusioned with life in Madrid, and seriously considered making the switch back to England.

Real Madrid offered the star a bumper new contract however, and the rest is history.
