The Senegalese forward has been prolific this season scoring six goals in seven appearances, but was taken off with a knock in the 89th minute against Manchester City on Saturday.

It was not immediately realised how serious the injury was, but it seems the Hammers’ summer signing could now be set for a month on the sidelines.

West Ham have been in fantastic form this season and currently find themselves in the top four. The loss of their top scorer will be a huge blow for them, but Sam Allardyce will be hoping fellow new boy Enner Valencia can pick up some of the slack and begin to pay off some of his transfer fee.
