Chelsea Predicted Line Up vs QPR: Costa In Line For Long Awaited Return To Action

How Chelsea will line up to take on Premier League strugglers QPR this weekend.

Following their midweek scare by Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup, the Blues will be relieved to get back to something more familiar with a stronger starting XI. A number of the club’s bigger name stars will once again flood the side in order to quell a QPR keen on resurgence after their own victory during the week against Aston Villa.

GK: Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian will return for the deputising Petr Cech to continue his rise as one of the top three goalkeepers in the Premier League.

LB: Felipe Luis

Has held the fort down admirably in Azpilicueta’s absence, this will be his last chance to impress before the Spaniard’s return.

CB: Gary Cahill

Played 90 minutes on Wednesday night, will need to be at his best again quickly.

CB: John Terry

The skipper is set to return in place of a still naive Kurt Zouma.

RB: Branislav Ivanovic

The Serb was given the night off this week, meaning he will be fresh for his frequent ventures forward.

CM: Nemanja Matic

Came on late to keep the lead on lock down, and will likely deal with Sandro with relative ease.

CM: Cesc Fabregas

Should cut through a limited QPR midfield like a hot knife through butter. He will be hands down the best player on the pitch.

LW: Eden Hazard

The Belgian made a cameo appearance against the Shrews, but will go from the start against Harry Redknapp’s men.

RW: Willian

Willian is a handful most days, but he will sense a weakness in QPR and go for the jugular.

AM: Oscar

Could face burnout halfway through, so Mourinho might need a contingency plan just in case.

ST: Diego Costa

It’s been hinted at all week, and enough time has passed for him to make a recovery, so Mourinho could throw in his most powerful weapon to dispose of the Hoops.
