Pretty much everyone has played well, but according to football statistics website WhoScored, these players have been the pick of the bunch for Chelsea.

5) Branislav Ivanovic – 7.59 WhoScored rating

The Serbian full-back is one of the best in the business, and has kept up his attacking form at full-back, scoring two goals already. Wins an incredible 3.6 aerial duels a game – almost more than the rest of the top five combined!

4) Oscar – 7.67

Finally back in form after a poor finish to last season. The ideal fit for attacking midfielder in Jose Mourinho’s system, combining attacking threat with defensive work rate. Has two goals and two assists to his name.

3) Cesc Fabregas – 7.89

Has been exceptional in midfield alongside Nemanja Matic. His eight assists are the most of any player in Europe, but he puts in plenty of defensive work too, putting in over two tackles per game.

2) Eden Hazard – 7.96

The Belgian improves with every passing season. His amazing 5.3 dribbles per game is the highest in Europe, and Chelsea are hugely reliant on his ability to tear defences apart with his quick feet and movement.

1) Diego Costa 8.29

The striker has been out injured but has still managed 9 goals in 7 starts. Chelsea haven’t looked the same without the striker, whose toughness and running at the head of the formation are essential to the way the team plays.
