He will definitely miss next Saturday’s home game against Crystal Palace, with United boss Louis van Gaal worried that he could be out for many weeks.

“The shoulder is out so you never know how long that is out,” Van Gaal told reporters.

“You never know how long that will take I have to wait until tomorrow, I think. He shall not play against Crystal Palace.”

Jonny Evans and Phil Jones are also currently out injured, while United will now be without Chris Smalling against Palace as well, after the former Fulham centre-back get sent off at City.

United finished the game against City with Michael Carrick and Paddy McNair in the centre of their backline.
