Which player will win the golden boot this season?

We’re one quarter of the way through the current Premier League season, and the players who will be competing for the golden boot in May are becoming clear.

Injury or a transfer could rule any of them out suddenly, but what are each individual player’s chances of winning the prize this season?

7=) Leonardo Ulloa – Leicester City – 5 goals

The Leicester striker started the season strongly but has seen his goals dry up, along with Leicester’s form, in recent weeks. Chance of winning: 4/10

7=) Nacer Chadli – Tottenham Hotspur – 5

Chadli looked like the odd-man-out in the Spurs setup this year, but it is his goals which have kept them afloat this season. As a midfielder, would have to do astronimically well to win the golden boot this year. Chance of winning: 3/10

7=) Charlie Austin – QPR – 5

Austin has done fantastically well since returning to the QPR side, and if they are to stay up they will need him to keep scoring at this rate. Chance of winning: 6/10

5=) Diafra Sakho – West Ham – 6

Sakho has scored his six in just six starts, and clearly has the poacher’s eye for goal. will be hoping to have 20 by the end by the time May comes around. Chance of winning: 6/10

5=) Graziano Pelle – Southampton – 6

Has kept up his sensational scoring form from Holland, and with Southampton’s form showing no signs of slowing, Pelle is definitely in with a shot at the award. Chance of winning: 7/10

3=) Alexis Sanchez -Arsenal – 7

Sanchez has been as good as Arsenal fans have hoped, although they now seem to be totally reliant on the Chilean to make things happen for them. Chance of winning: 8/10

3=) Saido Berahino – West Brom – 7

The Englishman’s eye for goal has apprently attracted serious interest from Premier League clubs. His shot at the trophy would be boosted massively if he were to make the move to a top club. Chance of winning: 7/10

2) Diego Costa – Chelsea – 9

Costa burst into the lead with a glut of early-season goals, but his recent injury problems have allowed Sergio Aguero to overtake him. Has a fantastic chance to win the award given the players around him, if he can stay fit. Chance of winning: 9/10

1) Sergio Aguero – Manchester City- 10

There’s just no stopping Aguero when he’s on form. The strikers pace and power combined with his deadly finishing have put him at the front of the race, and make him favourite to win the trophy. Chance of winning: 9/10
