We are now less than two months away from the transfer window reopening, which means that more and more rumours will start appearing in the newspapers and online as fans get excited about who their club could be looking to recruit in the new year.

Whilst seemingly every player in the world will get a mention somewhere, these are the ten that we expect to take up the most column inches:

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

The World Cup winning central midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a host of top Premier League clubs.

Talisca (Benfica)

The Brazilian wonderkid has been in incredible form for Benfica so far this season, scoring ten goals in nine games and attracting the attention of the Premier League vultures.

Martin Odegaard (Stromsgodset)

This 15 year-old is already a regular for Stromsgodset and even has a cap for Norway at his tender age, so it should no surprise that Liverpool and Manchester United are interested.

Virgil van Dijk (Celtic)

Quite a few useful players have moved from Celtic Park to the Premier League in recent years and Arsenal could hope that trend continues if they sign Virgil van Dijk from Celtic.

Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

Pique is no longer rated as the top class defender that he once was and Barcelona could well let him return to the Premier League this January.

Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion)

One of the most inspired players in the Premier League so far this season, Berahino is banging in the goals and has stoked the fire by suggesting that he wants Champions League football.

William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon)

Considering the amount that Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder William Carvalho was talked about in the summer, it was a shock that he didn’t move on then – but that hasn’t stopped the rumours.

Giannelli Imbula (Marseille)

Plenty of Premier League clubs need a top class holding midfielder right now – so it should be no surprise that in-form Marseille’s powerful star Giannelli Imbula is in demand.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

The fact that dynamic Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus has a release clause into effect next summer should ensure that there is a scramble for his signature.

Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Manuel Pellegrini has had to answer difficult questions about the future of powerful midfielder Yaya Toure recently and the Ivorian’s performances aren’t helping to suggest that he wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
