Liverpool are reportedly ready to pay an extra £10m to Ligue 1 side Lille this January if they can bring Divock Origi to Anfield earlier than initially planned, according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds are seemingly desperate for additions upfront this season, with Luis Suarez’s departure to Barcelona hitting the club hard, while injuries to Daniel Sturridge and the poor form of £16m signing Mario Balotelli have not helped the club’s cause either.

Origi has shown plenty of potential upfront and could be the man to save Liverpool’s season, with the club already facing a fight to qualify for the Champions League again after a dreadful run of recent form.

This would take the total transfer fee for the 19-year-old Belgian to £20m, with the club agreeing a £10m fee with Lille during the summer before loaning him back to France.

Origi himself has been quoted as saying he would be interested in moving to Liverpool earlier than expected, but it now seems that it will take some extra money for the club to have their wish.

Liverpool have been linked with other strikers as well in recent times, but an early deal for Origi seems to be their priority.
