Mathieu Debuchy hands Arsenal yet another injury boost with the news that he is set to return to the Emirates in a month…

Arsenal have received yet another bit of good news on the injury front, with Mathieu Debuchy announcing that he hopes to return from his spell on the sidelines very soon, as reported by Arsenal’s official website.

The Frenchman has been out since September with an ankle injury he sustained during the 2-2 draw with Manchester City, but he hopes to return in December.

“My injury is now better,” he said.

“I work hard every day with the physio and I want to be back on the pitch in December. I’m looking forward to it.”

The Gunners have sorely missed their summer signing, with a string of injuries tearing through their already threadbare defence.

The former Newcastle United man’s absence has meant Calum Chambers has been forced to play right-back, leaving no central defensive cover for the Debuchy’s compatriot Laurent Koscielny; who has also been sidelined for a number of weeks.

Chambers has been a fantastic signing for the the North Londoners as well, but his inexperience showed in the Swansea City game, and having a player like the France international on the right may have stifled Jefferson Montero significantly more.
