The 19-year-old broke into the first team this season and has been impressing with some fine performances in the Premier League for the Magpies.

This has attracted interest from the likes of the Reds and City and now the Gunners have also joined the hunt as the future of Aarons is plunged into uncertainty.

The winger’s current deal at St James’ Park expires in 18 months time and as yet no new contract has been offered to the Englishman by Newcastle.

This makes Aarons’ departure from his current club all the more likely and the North East side will need to act quickly if they want to keep hold of one of the most promising young talents in the Premier League.

The forward broke into the first team under Alan Pardew over the summer and since then has played five times for the Toon and scored two goals.

Aarons has been likened to fellow teenage Englishman Raheem Sterling in the past for his style of play and the wonderkid will be hoping he can achieve as much as the Reds star has.
