Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has something of a selection headache with 12 players struggling with injuries currently, although the Dutchman is confident a few of them will be fit to face the Gunners.

Here is how we expect them to lineup at the Emirates Stadium.

GK – David de Gea

Despite dislocating his finger whilst on international duty with Spain the goalkeeper has recovered sufficiently to play, which will be a major plus for the visitors.

RB – Antonio Valencia

With Rafael injured the only natural option at right-back is Valencia, who despite being good going forward is often a liability in defence and this could be an issue.

CB – Paddy McNair

There is a real crisis at the back with Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo all out and therefore van Gaal may have to call upon this teenager once again.

CB – Michael Carrick

Carrick picked up a slight knock whilst away with England on international duty, but is ready to face the North Londoners and may have to fill in at the back.

LB – Tyler Blackett

Left-back is another problem area with Daley Blind and Luke Shaw joining Rojo on the absentee list and therefore Blackett may have to operate as a full-back.

CM – Marouane Fellaini

After a disappointing first season at Old Trafford following a £27.5m switch from Everton the Belgium international has rediscovered his form somewhat this term and should continue in central midfield.

CM – Ander Herrera

Alongside him is a summer signing, with Herrera having had his own issues following a £29m switch from Athletic Bilbao, but has looked good when on the pitch.

RM – Adnan Januzaj

Van Gaal is a big fan of the 19-year-old and that is not good news for Juan Mata, with the Spaniard likely to miss out yet again in favour of the teenage winger.

CAM – Wayne Rooney

The captain will come into the game on the back of some fine performances with England and United will be looking to transfer that form to the domestic game.

LM – Angel di Maria

Despite picking up a knock playing for Argentina the British record signing is fit to play and will be a useful addition in attacking midfield.

ST – Robin van Persie

Leading the line is a former Gunner who has a knack of scoring against his old side and will be looking to keep that up this time around.
