Everton Ribeiro – Cruzeiro

The speedy winger was player of the year as Cruzeiro won the title last year, and has had another exceptional year as they stormed to their second consecutive league trophy this year. His quick dribbling and accurate crosses are a real asset and he picked up six goals and 10 assists this year, but his small frame might make him better suited to Spain or Portugal. Liverpool & Manchester United are interested, but Juventus are the rumoured favourites.

Dedé – Cruzeiro

The rock at the back for Cruzeiro over the last few years, Dedé has been repeatedly linked with European clubs without making the move. The centre-back knows it’s now or never, and January could be the perfect time to test himself in Europe. The tall centre-back has a release clause of €15m, and there will be several teams considering stumping up the cash.

Marcos Rocha – Atletico Mineiro

A flying fullback in the traditional Brazilian style, Rocha can also play higher up the right-hand side. He was a key player for the Mineiro side that won the Copa Libertadores last season, and after enjoying another great season in Brazil is ready to make the step up to Europe.

Rafael Toloi – Sao Paolo

Another solid centre-back, Toloi has been a solid Football Manager prospect for several seasons, and has been linked with clubs like AC Milan as far back as 2011. Toloi is approaching his peak, and could comfortably start for most mid-level Premier League clubs. An additional bonus is the fact that he has an EU passport, which removes the problems associated with getting a work permit.

Walter – Fluminense (on loan from Porto)

Porto snapped up tricky striker Walter in 2010, but he has been on loan in Brazil ever since. He has had well-publicised weight problems, but is a prolific goalscorer even with the extra pounds. If he comes to Europe and shapes up, he would be an asset for most top division sides.
