Real Madrid Reportedly Wrap Up January Deal For Man United Target

The Champions League holders are preparing their January business in plenty of time…

Portuguese newspaper A Bola are reporting that sought-after midfielder Lucas Silva could be making the move to Madrid as soon as January.

The Brazilian has been linked with Man United and Chelsea, but once again Real Madrid look as if they’ll make the decisive move to snatch the player dubbed the “new Kaka” before the English teams have a chance.

Silva is a key member of the Cruzeiro side that has just been crowned champions for the second season in a row. He has been attracting increasing interest from Europe, and with the Brazilian season over, could move in January.

A Bola are reporting a €12m bid from Madrid for the 21-year-old, although Cruzeiro apparently want €15m.

Real’s need for a midfielder has grown in the last few weeks, as Luka Modric has sustained an injury and Sami Khedira is struggling to return to match fitness.

There will be plenty of other interested parties in January, but they will now seemingly have to join the queue behind Los Merengues.
