=5) Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool – 13 goals

Sturridge could quite feasibly be at the top of this list had injury not struck him down for all but three Premier League matches this season. At the back of last term though, he was sensational – and along with Luis Suarez, came within inches of firing Liverpool to a maiden Premier League title.

=5) Wayne Rooney – Manchester United – 13 goals

Rooney is as creatively exceptional as he is lethal in front of goal. The England man is still United’s shining light, despite the summer arrivals of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao.

=3) Yaya Toure – Manchester City – 13 goals

The only midfielder on this list, Toure scored 20 Premier League goals last term, playing a huge role in their title triumph. He’s been less potent this season, bagging three so far.

=3) Edin Dzeko – Manchester City – 13 goals

This stat proves just how much strength in depth City have. Dzeko can’t get in the side, but has still registered 13 goals this calendar year – an extremely impressive effort from the Bosnian.

2) Sergio Aguero – Manchester City – 16 goals

The top scorer in the Premier League this season, Aguero could have way more than 16 goals in 2014 had injury not curtailed much of his last campaign. He still finished 2013/14 with 17 goals, however.

1) Wilfried Bony – Swansea City – 18 goals

Perhaps surprisingly, not Premier League player has notched more goals than Swansea’s Ivorian powerhouse. Bony can score with either foot, and provides a serious aerial presence, too.
