Out – Mohamed Salah

Recently linked with a move to Inter Milan, Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah seems a strong candidate for the Chelsea exit this January after failing to make it into the starting lineup on a regular basis since joining from FC Basel this time last year.

In – Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

In a possible £20m move, Chelsea are believed to be interested in taking a player from Inter Milan as well, as they reportedly target a move for promising young Argentine striker Mauro Icardi to bolster their options in attack.

Out – Kurt Zouma

In a loan move to Turkish side Besiktas, young defender Kurt Zouma is another player struggling for games at Stamford Bridge at the moment who could benefit from some time away from the club. The highly-rated 20-year-old is very much one for the future.

In – Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

Still, Zouma’s exit could leave Chelsea short of backup in central defence, with only John Terry and Gary Cahill to choose from there at the moment. An old Mourinho favourite, Raphael Varane, has recently been linked with the club as he ponders his future at Real Madrid.

Out – Petr Cech

A long-serving Chelsea great, Petr Cech dropping to the bench this season is likely to see clubs come in for him this January and it may be hard to stop him leaving. Liverpool are among those interested as they eye a new goalkeeper.

In – Kevin Strootman (AS Roma)

Chelsea already have many quality options in midfield, but it has been reported that they are interested in joining the race to sign £30m-rated AS Roma playmaker Kevin Strootman to make them even stronger in that position.

Out – Andre Schurrle

In a possible £25m move, Liverpool could make it a double raid on Chelsea as they target a move for out-of-favour German winger Andre Schurrle. Despite some strong performances this season and last, he seems unable to command a regular place in the Blues team.

In – Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro)

With Real Madrid out of the running, it could be that Chelsea will be in a strong position to finally sign promising Cruzeiro starlet Lucas Silva in a £13m deal this January, though Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested.
