Here are three players they are looking to sign, and three that they could be looking to get rid of in order to make room…

Ins

Sergio Romero, Sampdoria

The goalkeeper was part of an Argentina squad that made it to the 2014 World Cup final, and could be a replacement for the disappointing Simon Mignolet according to the Metro.

Reports in Italy have apparently made it clear that the move is at an advanced stage, and he could join early on in the transfer window.

Fernando Torres, Chelsea (currently on loan at AC Milan)

The Spaniard could be in for a sensational return to the Anfield club, if the Daily Mail is to be believed.

The Reds hero is currently on a two year loan at AC Milan, but the Italian giants apparently want to end it early. No deal is definite though, as they could face competition from Atletico Madrid if they want to sign the forward again.

Fabio Coentrao, Real Madrid

The Portuguese left-back has interested Liverpool, according to the Daily Express.

He is apparently available for £25 million, but manager Brendan Rodgers will have to fight off interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Outs

Lucas Leiva, to Inter Milan

The defensive midfielder hasn’t had as much game time as he would usually have at the Merseyside club, and could be on his way to Italy according to the Daily Star.

It would be a loan move, with the Brazilian linking up with former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini at the San Siro.

Mario Balotelli, to Napoli

The Italian has failed to impress since arriving at Anfield in the summer, and could be offloaded in January according to the Daily Mail.

Napoli are thought to be interested, with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez keen to take on the mercurial forward.

Fabio Borini, to Sunderland

Fabio Borini could be allowed to leave the club in January, after staying in the summer in an attempt to get in to the first team according to the Mirror.

Sunderland are yet again interested in the Italian, and this time could be successful in their overtures to the striker.
