Liverpool Keen To Sign Explosive Roma Midfielder

The Reds have been linked with another exciting Italian based player…

The Italian media are reporting that Liverpool are interested in AS Roma midfielder Radjda Nainggolan.

Transfer website TuttoMercatoWeb says that the Reds could tempt the player by significantly boosting his €1.4m a year wages.

The English side are hoping to take advantage of the midfielder’s uncertain contract situation. Roma signed the Belgian star on a loan deal for the second half of last season, then paid Cagliari €6m for 50% of the player this summer.

They were intending to buy the other 50% of Nainggolan before this summer, but the Merseysiders could throw a spanner in the works by offering both clubs more than their valuation of the player.

These rumours could all simply be generated by Cagliari of course, who are keen for Roma to pay as much as possible for the remaining 50%.

The 26-year-old is having an exceptional year for Rudi Garcia’s side after arriving from Sardinia. He has capably filled in for Kevin Strootman, who was only just returned from a cruciate injury, and has firmly established himself as a fan favourite already.

His all-action, explosive displays would be perfect for a Liverpool side which seems to lack the energy and speed it had last term.
