The Reds are looking to make a raid on their Premier League rivals with this move, whilst also bringing in a top transfer target for one of their main contenders for a top four place, Arsenal.

Brendan Rodgers urgently needs to strengthen his struggling side this winter, and it looks as though he could come away with two superb additions to his squad if these moves work out…

1) Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)

First on Liverpool’s list is Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar, who is also believed to be a top target for Arsenal and for Southampton this January after some fine displays at Villa Park. The Netherlands international could move on the cheap this winter as his contract is up at the end of the season, putting clubs on alert. With the likes of Dejan Lovren struggling at Anfield, there’s no doubt Vlaar would be a useful buy by the Reds.

2) Fabian Delph (Aston Villa)

Secondly, the Daily Star also reports that Liverpool want to make it a double raid on Aston Villa with a January move for England midfielder Fabian Delph. The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season and looks set to move on to a bigger club as the Reds look to strengthen in the middle of the park due to the decline of ageing captain Steven Gerrard.
