The Blues are said to be leading a three-way race ahead of Manchester United and Arsenal for the Spanish international’s signature, as they also look to get in there before he can agree a new deal with current side Barcelona, the Daily Express reports.

Boss Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on relieving the pressure on midfield duo Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, and has identified the World Cup winner as the ideal target.

Busquets is said to be exploring all potential options after losing confidence in Luis Enrique’s vision for the club, and major teams including PSG and Bayern Munich are also interested in acquiring his services.

However, should he opt for a move to Chelsea he will likely set the Blues back around £25m.

The Blues are also said to be keen on making a renewed effort to sign prolific HNK Reijka striker Andrej Krameric, according to the Metro.

Jose Mourinho has been chasing the 23-year-old for months now, and after being told that their initial offer came nowhere near the Croatian’s valuation the Premier League giants have sent representatives over to meet the player’s agent.

Chelsea have tabled a £7.8million offer for Kramaric, and have also proposed to take part in a friendly match against Rijeka when the Croatian club’s new stadium opens in 2016.

However, they also have competition for his signature, as the likes of Tottenham and Leicester have been previously linked with making a move to snap him up.

He has been dubbed the new Filippo Inzaghi, and is currently lighting up the Croatian League with 27 goals in 26 games.

Mourinho has been over reliant on summer signing Diego Costa this season, and wants more firepower to ensure his side stay ahead of the curve in the title race.
