The Daily Mail has put together this list ranking the teams by how many goals they have let in due to defensive errors. Liverpool and Arsenal are both in the top nine, maybe showing why they didn’t make the start to their campaigns that was expected.

=7) Arsenal, 4 goals conceded from defensive errors

The Gunner have started to find their form again recently, but had to rely on Alexis Sanchez to dig them out of holes created by their leaky defence in the first half of the season.

=7) Leicester City, 4 goals conceded from defensive errors

The Foxes have been struggling so far in the top flight, and their back four hasn’t helped them to acclimatize to the new division.

=7) Aston Villa, 4 goals conceded from defensive errors

Despite having Manchester United transfer target Ron Vlaar in the side, Villa have still been at fault for some of the goals they’ve conceded. What this means for how wise the Red Devils are for targeting the Dutchman is another matter.

=4) Newcastle United, 5 goals conceded from defensive errors

Alan Pardew may have turned things around now, but the Magpies were at fault for some of their earlier problems.

=4) Crystal Palace, 5 goals conceded from defensive errors

Neil Warnock became the first manager sacked in the Premier League this campaign after he bemoaned the defensive errors made by the Eagles.

=4) West Brom, 5 goals conceded from defensive errors

The Tigers have found the going tough in their second season in the top flight. The team as a whole needs to improve if they are going to survive another year in the Premier League.

=2) Liverpool, 6 goals conceded from defensive errors

The Reds summer signings have been disappointing defensively, with Alberto Moreno and Dejan Lovren both contributing to this tally.

=2) Sunderland, 6 goals conceded from defensive errors

The Black Cats have been struggling yet again for a reason. Their defence isn’t good enough, and they also don’t score many at the other end.

1) Everton, 10 goals conceded from defensive errors

The Toffees seem to have taken the attitude of “we’ll score one more than you.” It’s a pity that they haven’t been scoring as many as they did last time round.
