CaughtOffside reckons that these footballers could take 2015 by storm, and develop into national or internationally renowned players.

What d’you think?

Roberto Firmino – Hoffenheim

This could definitely be the Brazilian playmaker’s year… He won his first cap at the end of 2014, having been sublime in the Bundesliga during the 2013/14 season, where he bagged 16 goals. He’s been excellent this term too – and if he carries on, he’ll earn a bumper move to a European giant soon.

Eric Choupo-Moting – Schalke

The 25-year-old Cameroonian has burst onto the scene this term with the Germans… Deployed either wide or up top, he’s notched ten goals and registered four assists, too. His pace and dynamism will likely see him continue to impress this calendar year.

Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon

The Frenchman could develop into a true world superstar in 2015… In Ligue 1, the 23-year-old is scoring at will – and this season, only Cristiano Ronaldo has bagged more top flight goals in Europe. Lacazette can finish off either foot, and from inside or outside the area as well.

Harry Kane – Tottenham

Kane will surely earn his first England cap in 2015, and he deserves it, too. 15 goals in all competitions outlines the terrific season he’s having, and he’s arguably now Spurs’ most important player.

Jordan Henderson – Liverpool

This is based solely on the fact that Henderson is going to be Liverpool’s permanent captain next season, with Steven Gerrard leaving… This is a huge responsibility, especially considering the face that he’ll probably play centrally (instead of on the right) now as a priority. Is he up to it? Time will tell…

Layvin Kurzawa – Monaco

This guy’s going to be a star. At left-back for Monaco, Kurzawa is unbelievable going forward, but equally able defensively. He’s only 22-year-olds, and is destined for greatness. It’s no wonder Manchester City are interested.

Youri Tielemans – Anderlecht

Already an automatic starter for a Champions League side, despite being just 17-years-old. The Belgian is technically excellent, and provides a steely, gritty presence at the base of midfield. There’ll surely be a race for his signature in the summer, as Anderlecht won’t be able to hold on to him forever.
