Six Reasons Why Arsenal Will Beat Stoke City In The Premier League This Weekend

Arsenal face Stoke City this weekend at the Emirates, and will be looking to redeem themselves following their devastating 3-2 defeat in the reverse fixture earlier this season…

Arsene Wenger will be hoping Arsenal can get some measure of revenge against Mark Hughes’ Stoke City side on Sunday, with their loss earlier in the season cutting extremely deep.

Here are six reasons why the Gunners are sure to beat Stoke this weekend:

6) Santi Cazorla’s form

The Spaniard has been in superb form recently, and has been thriving in the absence of Mesut Ozil.

He has been both scoring and creating regularly, and has really been pulling the strings from midfield.

5) Arsenal’s excellent home form

The Gunners’ main problems this season have come away from home, with their performances at the Emirates Stadium largely being solid.

Wenger’s side have won all of their last three home games, and will be hoping to continue that run on Sunday.

4) Stoke’s poor away form

The Potters are notoriously poor away from the Britannia Stadium, and have only won once in their last four away games.

3) Bojan injury

The former Barcelona star has found his form recently, and punished Arsenal when the two sides met earlier in the season. He is set to miss the clash at the Emirates with an injury however, which should stifle Hughes’ side’s creativity.

2) A fit and well rested defence

Injuries have seen Wenger regularly forced into picking a makeshift defence this season, but that should not be the case on Sunday.

With Mathieu Debuchy and Laurent Koscielny back, as well as Per Mertesacker and Kieran Gibbs fully fit, the Gunners are finally able to field their first choice back four.

1) Alexis Sanchez

There is no question that the Chilean has been the difference maker for Arsenal this season, with the £35m summer signing producing a number of world class performances.

He is the definition of a match winner, and is easily capable of producing goals out of nothing.
