Chelsea transfer news

The Blues are known to be keeping an eye on some big names in attack at the moment, none more so than Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who continues to be linked with a big-money move to Stamford Bridge.

Still, in a slightly more realistic move, two superb wide-players available for more affordable prices are now being linked with the club as Jose Mourinho may be set to let Schurrle leave.

The 24-year-old only joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen last season, but has been unable to cement a regular place in the starting lineup, with plenty of competition for spots upfront already at the club.

Still, Mourinho could strengthen his options even further as he looks to bring in this £56m pair to replace Schurrle…

Top 50 best footballers in the world 2014/15

1) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

With a £20m release clause at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea want to revive their interest in German forward Marco Reus, who has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs in recent times after his superb form in the Bundesliga. There’s no doubt the 25-year-old would be a major upgrade on Schurrle at Stamford Bridge.

2) Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina)

Secondly, Chelsea could also look to sign £36m-rated Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, who was first linked with the Blues back in the summer transfer window. The talented Colombian international is another player who could make a huge improvement on Schurrle in Mourinho’s team.
