5. Thiago Motta – PSG

The Brazilian midfielder has not featured much for PSG this term, and has made it clear that he wants out whenever possible. The 32-year-old has been linked with a return to Italy, with former club Inter Milan said to be interested. But there is interest in England, too, as Manchester United and Tottenham are both believed to be monitoring his situation.

4. Winston Reid – West Ham United

The Kiwi international is in high demand this season, with Arsenal said to be leading the chase. His contract is up at the end of the current campaign, and manager Sam Allardyce has already confirmed his exit, though with the Gunners in desperate need for a new defender, he could be in line for an early exit.

3. Shinji Okazaki – Mainz

Okazaki has been in good form for the Bundesliga side this term, netting ten goals in 17 games. Having spent the past few years in Germany he is said to be ready to trey his luck elsewhere, and with several Premier League sides struggling to escape the drop zone a cheeky January move for the Japanese international could be on the cards.

2. Jermain Defoe – Toronto FC

The former Spurs star could be in line for a return to the club after his failed experiment on the other side of the pond didn’t stick. Liverpool are also interested, though there are sure to be many twists and turns left as he will no doubt hold on for the highest bidder.

1. Wilfried Bony – Swansea City

Bony’s departure from the Liberty Stadium seems to be more a case of ‘when’ than ‘if’ as his proposed £30m move to Manchester City draws ever nearer.
