The 17-year-old has been the subject of interest from the Gunners for a while now, and it will be good news for Arsene Wenger that a transfer fee has finally been agreed between the two clubs. The fee is thought to be £2.4 million.

The Frenchman will now want to get the deal for the Pole wrapped up as soon as possible, with a contract for the player the only thing left to sort out. The youngster has been described as the “new Patrick Vieira”, and certainly has the capability to play at the base of the midfield  in the same manner as the Gunners legend.

Whether or not he will go straight in to the first team squad is a different matter though, with it expected that it will be at least a few months before he is tested at the highest level. This transfer is not expected to improve the starting XI immediately.
