Take a look at the list below…

Yannick Bolasie – Democratic Republic of the Congo and Crystal Palace (Winger)

The Crystal Palace winger entertains fans week in week out, unafraid of pulling out an audacious trick, and there is high hopes for the 25 year old to impress in the competition.

Bolasie has become a key player for the Democratic Republic of Congo over the past six months – most notably in the 4-3 win over the Ivory Coast in Abidjan in which he put in an outstanding performance.

Ferjani Sassi – Senegal and CS Sfaxien (Midfielder)

Described as the Andre Pirlo of African footballer, the Senegal international is highly rated, and there remains the hope that he can produce something special during the tournament.

Known for his superb vision and excellent first touch, the 22 year possesses the finesse that is scarce in African football.

Wilfried Bony – Ivory Coast and Manchester City (Striker)

Having sealed a £28m move to Manchester City on Wednesday, Bony now has a huge price-tag to live up to.

With the Ivory coast international to have his debut with the Citizens delayed, the striker will be keen to firmly leave his mark at the African Cup of Nations, leaving City fans eager for his arrival at the Etihad.

Fabrice Ondoa – Cameroon and Barcelona B (Goalkeeper)

Barcelona’s B keeper, Fabrice Ondoa, while just 19 years of age was outstanding in the qualification stage of the African Cup of Nations, and was instrumental in his country’s qualification – conceding just one goal.

Ondoa was noted for not only his shot-stopping skills, but his organisational skills – showing great maturity that is sure to serve the teenager well in the competition, and could make for Cameroon’s number one for the foreseeable future.

Yacine Brahimi – Algeria and Porto (Attacking midfielder)

A treasure in Algeria, Brahimi is the playmaker of the side – and much of the weight to win the title rests on the 24 year old’s shoulders.

Brahimi was top scorer in qualifying, but has the ability and the selflessness to create goals for his teammates, too.

Brahimi’s combination with Sofiane Feghouli and Islam Slimani is considered the ‘golden trio’ of the team, and the attacking midfielder is very much at the heart of the three.
