Manchester United propose £80m swap deal for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale involving David de Gea

Los Blancos remain interested in de Gea as a long-term replacement for captain Iker Casillas and the Red Devils are hoping to use this to their advantage.

Despite not wanting to lose the goalkeeper, if the 24-year-old does leave they want Bale to be coming the other way in a swap deal worth £80m, reports the Manchester Evening News.

De Gea is valued at £40m by United, meaning they would only actually pay £40m in cash for the Wales international.

Paul Mariner says Radamel Falcao has ‘lost a yard of pace’

The former England striker has spoken out about the Colombia international after another performance against QPR at the weekend that was panned by pundits.

Mariner believes that since Falcao suffered his cruciate ligament injury the on-loan AS Monaco star has lost the pace in his game that made him so lethal in front of goal.

“Falcao should have scored [against QPR]. He isn’t playing well. He’s definitely lost a yard of pace,” the 61-year-old said on ESPN.

United fans heard chanting ‘4-4-2’ at Loftus Road

Despite winning the Premier League clash against the Rs on Saturday 2-0, the away support in West London was less than pleased with what they saw.

As the Daily Star reports chants of ‘4-4-2’ could be heard from the Man United fans as Louis van Gaal’s men struggled it what was essentially a 3-3-2-2 formation.

Van Gaal did change things at half-time, bringing on James Wilson for Jonny Evans and introducing more of a diamond midfield.

Falcao says he is fully fit and the goals will come

Despite Mariner’s comments – outlined earlier – the 28-year-old has rubbished reports he is still not 100% match fit and says that despite only netting three times so far this season he will rediscover his form.

Falcao was widely derided for his display against QPR at the weekend, but the South American says it is not worrying him.

“I am fine. I feel really good. I am playing without any sort of fitness problems. We were very close to scoring more and I could have had two goals. Sadly, the goalkeeper did very well and the other chances were not that clear,” the attacker was quoted by the Mirror.

Paul Pogba committed to Juventus despite reports linking him with a Premier League return

In recent weeks rumours have been circulating that the France international wants to leave Turin and is open to a return to England.

Both Chelsea and the Red Devils have been linked with the midfielder, but Pogba has rubbished those reports and insists he is happy at Juve.

“Juve are the club who put their trust in me and I must give 100 per cent for this shirt,” the 21-year-old was quoted by the London Evening Standard.
