Man United & Arsenal Set to Miss Out In Race for Young Serie A Forward

Palermo will not be selling Paulo Dybala during January.

Exciting young Palermo forward Paulo Dybala will not be moving on from the Sicilian club during the January transfer window according to the club’s enigmatic president Maurizo Zamperini, report the Mirror, with the Italian side expecting their star asset to sign a new three-year contract with the club within seven days.

Dybala has been strongly linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal on account of his fine performances for Serie A surprise packages Palermo, who have taken to life back in the top flight like ducks to water following their Serie B title winning campaign last time out.

It has taken Dybala some time to really adapt to Italian football following his move from his native Argentina, but dropping down into the second tier last season appears to have revitalised both player and club, leading to Dybala becoming one of the most exciting young talents in Serie A this season.

Charismatic Palermo president Zamperini, who is outspoken on most issues, has had his say on Dybala’s future and believes that staying at Palermo for now is crucial for the player’s long term future, but he did concede that a move in the near future is a distinct possibility:

“He will renew his deal and sign a three-year deal, and if he continues to play that well in the next six months then a big club from abroad will sign him. Where will he go? Abroad. In order I would say England, France, Germany and Spain, because the two big clubs in Spain already have a lot of forwards.”
