5) Chelsea 1-2 Sunderland

With Chelsea’s title hopes already on the brink last season, Mourinho’s side really slipped up here as relegation-threatened Sunderland snatched a scrappy win at Stamford Bridge courtesy of a late penalty from their former reserve player Fabio Borini.

A very recent bad memory for Chelsea fans here…despite the Blues’ strong record against Tottenham, they were all over the place defensively in this game as they conceded five to Harry Kane and co.

According to the man himself, this latest setback is Mourinho’s worst result of his career. Chelsea took a 2-0 lead against Bradford in what should’ve been a stroll in the park, but they capitulated in the second half as they were dumped out of the competition in just the fourth round.
