A major concern for Arsenal ahead of their proposed move for Paulista was issues surrounding the defender getting a work-permit, however the Gunners have finally received formal approval from the Home Office.

It is therefore only a matter of time before the deal is confirmed, with an £11.3m fee being agreed with Villarreal and the 24 year old undergoing a medical in London.

The Brazilian will be Arsene Wenger’s second-signing of this transfer window, after Krystian Bielik, and will likely be the last for this month.
