This could potentially mean that he will leave the Bundesliga champions in the near future. If he were to do so, who would be the clubs that could sign him?

Manchester City

Knocked out of both the FA Cup and League Cup, trailing Chelsea in the Premier League, and facing a tough match against Barcelona in the Champions League, Manuel Pellegrini’s future is looking less certain as the season goes on. If someone of Guardiola’s calibre was to come on to the market then he could well be replaced, despite winning the league last season. The club would also fit the Spaniard well, with the money and players there with which he could implement his famous philosophy.

Manchester United

They may have only appointed Louis van Gaal in the summer, but in the same city as the Citizens is another club who could go after a available Guardiola. The Dutchman hasn’t been as successful as some would have hoped this season, although it is unlikely he could be sacked so soon. Again, it is the fact that Guardiola is available that could tempt them. If this were to happen it would also continue the former Spain international’s trend of managing the same clubs as van Gaal.

Paris St. Germain

Laurent Blanc is a manager that is under pressure. Third in Ligue 1, and trailing leaders Lyon by four points is not good enough for a side that has vastly larger financial resources than any of its competitors. The oil rich team would also jump at the chance to sign a marquee manager such as the current Bayern Munich man.

Barcelona

Although he has turned it around recently, there have been some calling for the head of Luis Enrique at Barca already. They already love Guardiola from his incredibly successful time at the club, and welcome him back with open arms. He probably wouldn’t mind getting to work with Lionel Messi again either.

Arsenal

Arsene Wenger is not going to be sacked anytime soon, but he is now 65-years-old. With age perhaps catching up with him, the Gunners hierarchy could perhaps ask him to move on while a top class manager such as the Bayern Munich man is available. Guardiola would also be suited to the North London club’s group of technically able players.
