Manchester City Star Reveals World XI – Ibrahimovic Controversially Picked Ahead Of Aguero And Very Strange Choice At Left-Back

Typically with these kind of lists there’s going to be some questionable decisions…

Manchester City star Edin Dzeko has revealed his world XI with the usual suspects of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo featuring upfront, but some shock names hidden in the side.

The forward was speaking to the Manchester City official website where he opted for a 4-3-3 formation whilst also selecting two of his teammates in his impressive eleven.

See just who has managed to wrangle themselves into the Bosnian’s team below:

GK: Manuel Neuer – Bayern Munich

Neuer is probably the best keeper in the world at the moment, pretty much confirmed by his Balon d’Or nomination. Strangely, he’s perhaps more famous now for his antics outside the box in an almost sweeper role than any memorable saves or typical goalkeeping displays.

RB: Philipp Lahm – Bayern Munich

The right back has altered between central midfield and defence under Pep Guardiola’s reign at Bayern, but definitely looks more adept at full back as demonstrated during the World Cup with Germany.

CB: Vincent Kompany – Manchester City

There’s no doubting Kompany is a beast at the back, but it’s not been his most spectacularly season to date. If he’s at his best though, you’d struggle to find a more combative and committed defender.

CB: Sergio Ramos – Real Madrid

A stalwart for Real this season that has seen a number of Premier League clubs linked with him and a move to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United said to be on the cards.

LB: Aleksandr Kolarov – Manchester City

Perhaps a bit of bias here from Dzeko. Kolarov has made just 11 starts this season after overlooked for Gael Clichy so it’s hard to see how the Serbian can actually make the XI…perhaps if Dzeko were including who he’d pick for the bench, Kolarov would definitely have a place in the side nailed down.

RM: Andres Iniesta – Barcelona

Some of the sparkle certainly seems to have come off the Barca man since the exit of Pep Guardiola but there’s no doubting his immense ability and place as one of the world’s leading midfielders.

CM: Bastian Schweinsteiger – Bayern Munich

The lynchpin and metronome of both Bayern and Germany, Schweinsteiger is the beating heart of these successful sides and has been sorely missed through injury this season but is looking to make up on lost time now he has returned.

LM: Xavi – Barcelona

Age certainly seems to have caught up with Xavi as the 35 year old struggles to compete with his younger teammates for a starting position, but his class has certainly shown over the years with two European Champions medals, a World Cup and a hoard of trophies with Barca that’s bigger than other clubs’ entire cabinets.

RW: Lionel Messi – Barcelona

May have had to play second fiddle to Ronaldo this season but he was still immense in a season that saw him break Champions League and La Liga goal scoring records.

CF: Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Paris Saint Germain

Brash, arrogant but clearly one of the world’s best upfront. Ibra revels in his pantomime villain role but can’t help but amaze you with his incredible feats despite any personal feelings you might have about his character.

LW: Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid

2014 was definitely the year of Ronaldo as the forward won an incredible number of trophies and accolades such as his third Balon d’Or .
