Chelsea are not believed to have made a formal offer for Cuadrado yet, but the current Premier League leaders remain the winger’s most likely destination at present ahead of Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Barcelona, who were also reported to be tracking the 26-year-old.

Defender Micah Richards, who is currently on a season-long with Fiorentina, believes that the English top-flight perfectly suits his team-mate.

“I have been training with him every day and he’s got everything; technique, speed, power, pace. All his attributes would be suited to the Premier League so I can see exactly why he is being linked with a move there,” Richards told Sky Sports.

Quite why Richards is promoting the transfer of one of his own club colleagues is hard to comprehend, and the former Manchester City man may not prove a popular man when he returns to the Florence club’s training ground.

Colombia international Cuadrado has made it clear that he wants to leave the Stadio Artemio Franchi and join Chelsea, but the Blues must meet his £26.8m buyout clause.

In 16 appearances for Fiorentina this season, the 26-year-old has four goals and four assists, and has been a regular in Vincenzo Montella’s side since joining in 2012.
