Goalkeeper: Marc-André ter Stegen

According to the Metro, Liverpool are desperate to wrap up a £17m signing for the highly rated young German ‘keeper who is likely to oust floundering Simon Mignolet from the no.1 spot at Anfield.
Right back: Jon Flanagan

The youngster has worked his way up the ranks in the Liverpool academy but hasn’t featured as he would have liked this season through injury. Once fit again he will surely continue his impressive development in the starting XI.
Centre-back: Martin Skrtel

22-year-old marauding full-back and Spain international has impressed for the Reds so far this season and will be looking to be in the side for many years to come due to his tender age.
Left-central midfield: Jordan Henderson

The 24-year-old England international has got better and better since signing for Liverpool and is set to be a very important player for both England and the Merseyside club in the future. With six assists and three goals already this term he has a bright future.
Central defensive midfield: Ruben Neves

If reports in the Express, are to be believed Liverpool could be closing in on Porto wonderkid Ruben Neves who has been described as the ‘new Sergio Busquets’ by team-mate Cristian Tello. The 17-year-old is already a regular starter at the 27-time Portuguese champions and is set to shine at the top table of football.
Right-central midfield: Lars Stindl

According to the Star, Liverpool are planning a raid of Hannover and are to sign two of their players. One of which is attacking midfielder Lars Stindl who has been mentioned as a Steven Gerrard replacement. The 26-year-old has made 114 Bundesliga appearances and scored 11 goals for the German club.
Right wing: Raheem Sterling

The jet-heeled winger has been touted as the best young prospect in the world and won the European Golden Boy award for 2014, an award previously won by Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi. If Liverpool are to challenge at the right end of the table it is imperative they keep hold of their prize asset.

The England striker has had torrid luck with injuries so far this season but by August may well be fit again. After his 21 league goals he came runner up in the 2013/14 Premier League Golden Boot and one would think he needs to recapture this form if the Reds are to be serious contenders.

The Burnley hotshot has been the subject of intense media speculation regarding a move to Anfield this month. In order to be accommodated in a fully fit Liverpool side though he may be forced to play from a wide position which could limit his opportunities.
