Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

The Belgian stopper has struggled for form so far this season looking shaky on many occasions, but with Everton no.1 Tim Howard still injured there is very little to pick from so Mignolet makes it in ahead of Brad Jones and Joel Robles.

Right back: Seamus Coleman

A shoe-in of Everton’s side who has constantly attracted attention from the Premier League big boys. He has performed admirably in a struggling Toffees side this season.

Centre back: Martin Skrtel

Skrtel has proved to be one Rafael Benitez’s best signings for Liverpool and gone from strength to strength being one of the first names on the team sheet at Anfield.

Centre back: Phil Jagielka

Everton captain and England international Phil Jagielka has been reliable and also chipped in with the odd goal this season. Makes the team ahead of Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren because of consistency.

Left back: Leighton Baines

With 10 assists and three goals Everton’s left-back stalwart makes it into this combined XI beating off competition from Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno.

Right wing: Raheem Sterling

England and Liverpool’s golden boy has been heavily relied upon by the Reds so far this season and so far has delivered on many occasions with six goals and six assists.

Central midfield: Steven Gerrard

There’s absolutely no contest for this spot. One of Anfield’s favourite sons Gerrard is likely to be the centre of attention tomorrow when he will play in his last ever Merseyside derby before jetting off to LA Galaxy at the end of the season.

Left wing: Kevin Mirallas

Mirallas is a constant threat for Everton and can link up with the forward line well having already scored eight goals this season and made two assists. Without the Belgian the Toffees are a completely different proposition.

Central attacking midfield: Coutinho

Fresh from scoring a screamer in Liverpool’s FA Cup Fourth Round Replay their Brazilian playmaker will be raring to go for the biggest game on Merseyside tomorrow and is likely to be a constant thorn in Everton’s side.

Striker – Romelu Lukaku

The 21-year-old man mountain has scored 10 goals so far this season and one gets the impression that he will be focal to any success his side are to have tomorrow.

Striker: Daniel Sturridge

The England and Liverpool striker came back with a bang last week against West Ham United, scoring off the bench and even if he isn’t fully fit he walks into this combined XI as he can turn a game on its head at any given moment.
