Five Strikers Tottenham Should Sign Instead Of Over-Rated £25m Man, Including Arsenal Target & Man City Misfit

Spurs linked with overpriced Premier League striker – here’s five alternatives.

With Tottenham Hotspur once again linked with a move to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, CaughtOffside takes a look at five other players who could be more suitable targets for the north London club.

Berahino looks over-rated and certainly overpriced, with his personal problems off the pitch seeing him become something of an outcast at the Hawthorns and a player the Baggies are keen to get rid of.

With Harry Kane in such sparkling form for Spurs, here are five far better strikers Mauricio Pochettino should be looking to sign to partner him:

1) Jackson Martinez (Porto)

One of the most prolific strikers in the game, Jackson Martinez has really shone with Porto and Tottenham are one of many clubs linked with him in the last few years.

2) Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

Available for around £30m, Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi looks a great prospect and has attracted interest from Chelsea and Liverpool in recent times.

3) Andre-Pierre Gignac (Marseille)

A top Arsenal and Liverpool target, Andre-Pierre Gignac has been superb for Marseille this season and would likely be cheaper than Berahino, as well as better.

4) Danny Ings (Burnley)

A player impressing in his first season in the Premier League, Danny Ings is likely to leave Burnley on the cheap this summer and Spurs must step up their interest in signing the England hopeful.

5) Edin Dzeko (Manchester City)

A wildcard option perhaps, but Edin Dzeko has been out of favour at Manchester City this season and could be available for as little as £12m. It remains to be seen if City would sell to a rival, but Tottenham should try their luck for the experienced forward.
