Here are 10 players in the Championship who are good enough to make the step up to the Premier League.

Callum Wilson – Bournemouth

The former Coventry City man has been on fire for Bournemouth this season with 15 goals and with his side going well in the Championship, should be in the top division soon enough.

Alex Pritchard – Brentford

The young midfielder is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and has helped Brentford to their surprising league position this season.

Grant Leadbitter – Middlesbrough

The Middlesbrough captain has Premier League experience and has been tearing it up this season with 12 goals for the promotion contenders.

Matt Ritchie – Bournemouth

Bought for big money by Bournemouth from Swindon Town, he will more than pay it back if his goals and assists fire them to the Premier League with 9 and 11 respectively so far.

Bradley Johnson – Norwich City

The 27-year-old is playing below his level in the Championship. He was impressive before they were relegated last season and will hope to be back in the top division before long.

Odion Ighalo – Watford

The Nigerian striker has scored 14 goals so far this season following his permanent transfer from Udinese and has been very impressive for the Hornets.

Jordan Rhodes – Blackburn Rovers

With 73 league goals in 124 league games for Huddersfield Town and 63 league goals in 119 league games for Blackburn, Jordan Rhodes has been prolific for the majority of his career, after a slow start at Ipswich Town.

He has recently been rumoured with a move to Swansea City and it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for him this summer.

Bakary Sako – Wolves

The subject of rumours with a move away from Molineux, the 26-year-old winger is at the source of most of Wolves attacking play. If they fail to get promoted this year, he may leave them for bigger things.

David McGoldrick – Ipswich

Ipswich’s creative forward has scored seven so far this season but it’s fair to say they don’t look the same exciting and potent attacking threat without him in the team.

Chris Martin – Derby County

At the heart of any top side is a great goalscorer, and Chris Martin is just that with 19 goals in all competitions so far this season. Likely to be playing at a higher level with Derby doing well towards the top of the Championship.
