Man Utd Want Ancelotti To Replace Disappointing Van Gaal

Manchester United want Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to replacement the struggling Louis Van Gaal.

The Dutchman has failed to win over the United fans. They accuse him of a negative approach to games, which while effective, has seen them turn in consistently dour performances and only just scrape through games they should have been comfortably winning.

The Metro now report that the Old Trafford hierarchy are keen to take Ancelotti away from Madrid. The Italian has found himself at the centre of frequent criticism over recent weeks, and speculation about his future with the club reached fever pitch after they were thrashed 4-0 by cross city rivals Atletico Madrid last week.

In a bizarre twist, there are rumours that Man City might try and battle United for his signature. City have struggled to match Chelsea’s relentless pace throughout the season, and despite winning 4-1 away at Stoke on Wednesday night, find themselves 7 points behind Mourinho’s league leaders.

Van Gaal’s Red Devils are currently third, but have Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, and Southampton all within five points of them.
